Christmas Miracles Begin {12.01.14}

Happy December! Can you believe it?! It's the most wonderful time of the year :) If you haven't watched the church's new Christmas video yet, do it now!

Before we get too carried away with Christmas, though, let's talk about Thanksgiving! It was a wonderful one! Sister Huber and I spent the day carrying around a gratitude white board and had everyone we met write what they were grateful for on it. We're working on a collage I'll send soon :) I think this project made it one of my favorite Thanksgivings yet! I loved hearing what everyone was grateful for from the Bishop to the construction workers on the street (yes we asked them). It helped me remember the reason for the season :) We also, of course, feasted with a couple families in our ward. Between the two families there were 8 kids under 11 years old running around so it was pretty exciting :) The oldest wrote a play about the first Thanksgiving Sister Huber and I got to star in.. She was John Carver and I was John Carver's wife :) My line was, "Over half the people have died!" It was a hit.
Many, many other exciting things happened this week I would love to tell you about, but I'm going to focus on my favorite miracles which all include Greg. I told you about his miracle fast last week. This week we went to the family history center with him. All he had was his grandfather's name and he left an hour later with 13 generations! He even found out he was related to Daniel Boone!! I'm serious. My love for family history grows every day!
Yesterday at church our gospel principles class got a little deep and was leaning more toward the opinion side than the doctrine side.  After, Greg told us he wouldn't be able to stay for the third hour. Greg always stays for the 3rd hour! Sister Huber and I assured each other that everything was fine, but were both having internal battles about it all day. By the end of the night we were stress cases! We had been praying all day about it and decided to just stop by Greg's house. We knocked on the door, having no idea what we were about to say. When Greg answered he was happy to see us! Thank goodness. He proceeded to tell us he had spent most of his afternoon reading the Book of Mormon. He said that he had a lot of questions after sunday school, but instead of becoming doubtful like he would have in the past, he decided to pray and study it out in the Book of Mormon. He told us how much FUN he had had studying his questions all afternoon! Wow, this is a changed man. I now have an even deeper understanding and love of the Doctrine of Christ. It has changed Greg. He continued to tell us how much he is looking forward to his baptism and had been contemplating moving it up because he just can't wait.
WOW.
Keep him in your prayers!! His baptism is December 12th!
Well, I love you all so very very much! As we start this wonderful season remember,

“When we keep the spirit of Christmas, we keep the Spirit of Christ, for the Christmas spirit is the Christ Spirit. It will block out all the distractions around us which can diminish Christmas and swallow up its true meaning."

said by some inspired church leader :)
